A LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Families,

Welcome to the 24-25 school year! As the Principal of The Edith K. Bergtraum School PS 165Q, I want to take this opportunity to welcome and invite you and your child to enter fully into the life of our school. While this year is coupled with both excitement and nervousness , I can assure you Team 165 will create a welcoming and affirming environment for all children.  While safety is first, we continue to have a laser sharp focus on teaching and learning. We also continue to align our work with The Chancellor’s  priorities, District 25’s goals ,and our school’s mission, vision, and values.  

 I am delighted to share that all grades we will continue to have enrichment activities . More information about our enrichment opportunities are forthcoming. We continue to have a robust Arts component to our school program. Students will have the opportunities to participate fully in at least one of the Arts which are visual arts, theater, dance, and music. Students also have physical education with two dynamic PE instructors.   

While academics are important we also know Social Emotional Learning (SEL) truly matters. Daily, children will work on The five SEL competencies (self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, social awareness, and relationship skills).

Parents,  there will be many opportunities for parent and family participation. Together with the Parent Coordinator, our Parent Teachers Association Organization (PTA), and School Leadership Team (SLT) we will make sure that we develop diverse opportunities and activities that will include you and our community.  We strongly believe that your involvement and contributions will play a positive role that will enrich your child’s school experience. 

Our Theme continues to be- From Many We Are One, One Mission, One Vision, 165. Working together with a sense of oneness- we can accomplish wonderful things for our children.

家長們，家長和家人將有很多參與的機會。我們將與家長協調員、家長教師協會組織 (PTA) 和學校領導團隊 (SLT) 一起確保開發多樣化的機會和活動，讓您和我們的社區參與其中。  我們堅信您的參與和貢獻將發揮積極作用，豐富您孩子的學校經驗。

UNA CARTA DEL DIRECTOR

Queridas familias,

¡Bienvenidos al año escolar 24-25! Como directora de la escuela Edith K. Bergtraum School PS 165Q, quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para darle la bienvenida e invitarlo a usted y a su hijo a entrar de lleno en la vida de nuestra escuela. Si bien este año viene acompañado de emoción y nerviosismo, les puedo asegurar que el Equipo 165 creará un ambiente acogedor y afirmativo para todos los niños.  Si bien la seguridad es lo primero, seguimos centrándonos en la enseñanza y el aprendizaje. También continuamos alineando nuestro trabajo con las prioridades del Canciller, las metas del Distrito 25 y la misión, visión y valores de nuestra escuela.  

 Me complace informarles que en todos los grados continuaremos teniendo actividades de enriquecimiento. Próximamente habrá más información sobre nuestras oportunidades de enriquecimiento. Seguimos teniendo un sólido componente artístico en nuestro programa escolar. Los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de participar plenamente en al menos una de las Artes que son artes visuales, teatro, danza y música. Los estudiantes también tienen educación física con dos instructores dinámicos de educación física.   

Si bien lo académico es importante, también sabemos que el aprendizaje socioemocional (SEL) realmente importa. Diariamente, los niños trabajarán en las cinco competencias SEL (autoconciencia, autogestión, toma de decisiones responsable, conciencia social y habilidades para relacionarse).

Padres, habrá muchas oportunidades para la participación de padres y familias. Junto con el Coordinador de Padres, nuestra Organización de la Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTA) y el Equipo de Liderazgo Escolar (SLT), nos aseguraremos de desarrollar diversas oportunidades y actividades que lo incluirán a usted y a nuestra comunidad.  Creemos firmemente que su participación y contribuciones desempeñarán un papel positivo que enriquecerá la experiencia escolar de su hijo. 

Nuestro tema sigue siendo: De muchos somos uno, una misión, una visión, 165. Trabajando juntos con un sentido de unidad, podemos lograr cosas maravillosas para nuestros hijos.

 مجھے یہ بتاتے ہوئے خوشی ہو رہی ہے کہ ہم تمام درجات میں افزودگی کی سرگرمیاں جاری رکھیں گے۔ ہمارے افزودگی کے مواقع کے بارے میں مزید معلومات آنے والی ہیں۔ ہمارے پاس اپنے اسکول کے پروگرام میں آرٹس کا ایک مضبوط جزو موجود ہے۔ طلباء کو کم از کم ایک آرٹس میں مکمل طور پر حصہ لینے کا موقع ملے گا جو کہ بصری فنون، تھیٹر، رقص اور موسیقی ہیں۔ طلباء دو متحرک PE انسٹرکٹرز کے ساتھ جسمانی تعلیم بھی رکھتے ہیں۔   

جب کہ ماہرین تعلیم اہم ہیں ہم یہ بھی جانتے ہیں کہ سوشل ایموشنل لرننگ (SEL) واقعی اہم ہے۔ روزانہ، بچے SEL کی پانچ صلاحیتوں (خود آگاہی، خود نظم و نسق، ذمہ دارانہ فیصلہ سازی، سماجی بیداری، اور تعلقات کی مہارت) پر کام کریں گے۔

والدین، والدین اور خاندان کی شرکت کے بہت سے مواقع ہوں گے۔ پیرنٹ کوآرڈینیٹر، ہماری پیرنٹ ٹیچرز ایسوسی ایشن آرگنائزیشن (PTA) اور اسکول لیڈرشپ ٹیم (SLT) کے ساتھ مل کر ہم اس بات کو یقینی بنائیں گے کہ ہم متنوع مواقع اور سرگرمیاں تیار کریں گے جن میں آپ اور ہماری کمیونٹی شامل ہوگی۔  ہمیں پختہ یقین ہے کہ آپ کی شمولیت اور تعاون ایک مثبت کردار ادا کرے گا جو آپ کے بچے کے اسکول کے تجربے کو تقویت بخشے گا۔
