Dear 165Q Families,
Happy 2019! We are midway through our school year , and we are pleased to announce this year is moving along beautifully. All students are learning and growing each and everyday. All students are working on social emotional strategies to promote self and social awareness . All students have regular opportunities to celebrate their new learnings through classroom presentations, and publishing celebrations.
As we move into 2019, we will continue to be very intentional about ensuring all parents/guardians know your voices are valued and very necessary. We want families to come in, ask questions, visit classrooms on First Fridays every month, meet with me during coffee and conversation , attend weekly parent engagement opportunities, and attend monthly PTA meetings. You are key stakeholders and we want to hear from you. You can also use this survey to give us information. https://goo.gl/forms/la20Z40RAIHrpxV43
Early this month the school community revised our school mission statement and added new vision and values statements. You will see the updated information on our website.
Please visit our website regularly as this is one of our communication tools we use to update families about school events. In addition to updates on our website , there is the The PS165Q Parent Handbook which details our policies, procedures, and protocols.
As always, I will continue to have an open door policy for all stakeholders including parents, students, community partners, and staff.
Should you have any questions please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher, our Parent Coordinator Mrs. Trina Jacobs-Rivers at TJacobs6@schools.nyc.gov , or a member of the administrative team.
