Principal's Updates

Dear 165Q Families,

We are honored to have your child/children at PS 165Q. Our school is your child’s home away from home, and we assure you we will nurture your child/children cognitively, emotionally, psychologically, physically, and socially. Not only will students engage in critical thinking, problem solving, and accountable talk across all content areas, they will also enjoy enrichment opportunities, participate in the fine arts, enhance their computer skills, receive regular physical education ,and make wonderful lifelong friends. We are committed to our school’s mission , vision, and core values. We regularly celebrate students when we see our core values in action. Please support us as we highlight the following values: kindness, respect, responsibility, intellectualism, perseverance, and inclusivity.

Parents/Guardians…your voice matters! We want to hear from you, and we want to see you. In order to function at a high level we need the support of our parents. There are many opportunities to see your child’s education up close and personal. Please feel free to ask questions, visit classrooms on First Fridays every month, meet with me during coffee and conversation , attend school functions/celebrations, visit our monthly SLT meetings, attend workshops , and attend monthly PTA meetings. Most times your child’s classroom teacher will be able to answer any questions you may have. You might also want to visit our website regularly as this is one of our communication tools we use to update families about school events. In addition to updates, our website also has The PS165Q Parent Handbook which details our school’s policies, procedures, and protocols. Also, please make sure we have your correct phone number on file as we often use robo calls to communicate with you.

We are excited about this school year, and we hope you are as well.

Educationally Yours,

Principal Tiffany Davis-Nealy
